Major Offensive Against Maoists: Security Forces Tighten Grip

Security forces, led by the CRPF and involving 20,000 troops, have killed 26 Maoists in a significant operation at Karregutta Hills along the Telangana-Chhattisgarh border. The operation has seized large amounts of explosives and weapons, enduring harsh conditions and combat injuries.

Security forces have intensified their largest campaign this year against Maoist insurgents, killing 26 rebels in the Karregutta Hills on the Telangana-Chhattisgarh border. Led by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), the operation has involved up to 20,000 troops over the past 18 days.

The troops, supported by elite units like the CRPF's CoBRA and the Chhattisgarh Police's DRG and STF, have faced fierce resistance, resulting in injuries to several personnel. Heavy explosives and weapons-manufacturing facilities have been confiscated as the forces continue to face treacherous terrain and searing temperatures.

CRPF Director General G P Singh, present since the start of the offensive, has been coordinating efforts meticulously, ensuring no casualties on the forces' side. Advanced drone and satellite technologies are being employed to corner key Maoist leaders suspected to be hiding in the area.
