The civil defence directorate has announced a test of an air raid siren, strategically positioned atop the PWD building in ITO, this Friday afternoon. This is confirmed in an official statement released recently.
Scheduled to start at 3 p.m., the exercise will run for 15 to 20 minutes. This safety measure arrives in the wake of heightened tensions between India and Pakistan, exacerbated by the recent Pahalgam terror attack that tragically claimed 26 lives, most of them tourists.
The directorate urges the public to remain calm and not to panic during the siren testing, assuring that it is a routine safety procedure amidst these challenging times.
