Punjab Police's Bold Strike Against Drug Trafficking

The Anti-Narcotics Task Force of Punjab Police has successfully neutralized a notorious drug trafficker in Jagraon after a brief encounter, police officials announced on Friday.
The operation unfolded on Thursday night when the task force, acting on a tip-off, intercepted notorious drug smuggler Raju and his aide. During the confrontation, Raju opened fire on the police but was critically injured in the exchange and later succumbed to his injuries at the civil hospital, while his accomplice managed to flee.
Authorities recovered two kilograms of heroin, Rs 15 lakh in drug money, and an illegal weapon from Raju. The police are continuing their investigation to dismantle the smuggling network. Raju had been a repeat offender with 19 FIRs against him under various acts.
