Tragedy Strikes: Woman Shot Days Before Wedding

A 24-year-old woman was fatally shot just before her wedding in Uttar Pradesh, India. Sangeeta Rajput was killed at her home, allegedly by two men who have been identified by her family. The police have registered an FIR and investigations are continuing amidst the tragedy.

In a tragic turn of events, a young woman was allegedly shot dead just two days before her wedding in Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh. The victim, Sangeeta Rajput, aged 24, was asleep at her home when two men forced their way inside and fatally shot her at around 3 AM, as informed by the police.

Relatives reported hearing gunfire and discovering Sangeeta in a pool of blood, while two suspects were seen fleeing the scene. The attackers are reportedly residents of a neighboring district, Kannauj, and have been identified by the victim's family. Authorities claim to have caught one assailant during the escape attempt.

Circle Officer Ravi Prakash stated the incident involves a gunshot wound under suspicious circumstances. A formal complaint has been filed and the investigation is underway. Meanwhile, Sangeeta's body is sent for post-mortem examination, and her wedding was tragically set for May 15.
