Allies Unite to Tackle Baltic Sea 'Shadow Fleet'

Britain, alongside Nordic-Baltic nations and other allies, declared joint measures to counter Russia's 'shadow fleet' in the Baltic and North Seas. In a coordinated effort to address security concerns in the Baltic and North Seas, Britain and its allies, including Nordic-Baltic nations, have pledged unified action against Russia's so-called 'shadow fleet,' according to a statement from the British Foreign Office issued Friday.

The coalition of nations emphasized their commitment to taking appropriate measures against vessels failing to display a valid flag in the contentious maritime areas, emphasizing adherence to international law. The joint statement acts as a clear warning to maritime operators in these critical waters.

Representatives from 14 countries, including Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, and Sweden, participated in the meeting that led to this strategic declaration, aiming to enhance regional security and stability.
