In a tragic turn of events, a 63-year-old widow named Savitri Devi was reportedly killed by her nephews following a land dispute in Uttar Pradesh's Kaushambi district. Authorities revealed that the incident occurred on Sunday night.

The victim, a resident of Mohiuddinpur village, was allegedly attacked with sharp-edged weapons by Ram Prakash alias Nanhe and Om Prakash alias Babli—sons of her deceased brother-in-law Amar Singh. The conflict escalated from a disagreement over agricultural land ownership.

According to Additional Superintendent of Police Rajesh Kumar Singh, the nephews wanted to register the remaining land in their names, a proposal which Savitri Devi refused. With her murder, the suspects fled, prompting police to launch a search operation. An inquiry and postmortem are underway.
