Identified as Pappu, the deceased's family insists that his death was staged as a suicide following ongoing domestic disputes over an alleged affair. Pappu's brother, Mahendra, maintains that the victim faced frequent altercations with his wife over her alleged relationship with another local man.

The Bareilly police, led by Superintendent of Police Anshik Verma, have initiated a thorough investigation and have seized the mobile devices of both the deceased and his wife for forensic examination. The exact cause of death remains undetermined pending a post-mortem report.
