Justice Overturned: Two Acquitted in Mumbai Train Blasts

Two individuals, Ehtesham Siddiqui and Mohammad Ali, who were implicated in the 7/11 Mumbai train blasts and sentenced in 2015, were released after the Bombay High Court acquitted them. The court ruled the prosecution failed to establish their involvement. Another accused, Naveed Khan, remains incarcerated due to separate charges.

In a significant turn of events, the Bombay High Court has acquitted two of the 12 individuals previously convicted in the notorious 7/11 Mumbai train blasts case. Ehtesham Siddiqui and Mohammad Ali, who faced death and life sentences respectively, were released on Monday evening from Nagpur Central Jail.

The 2006 blasts, which devastated Mumbai's Western Railway suburban network, claimed the lives of over 180 people. However, after nearly two decades, the High Court decisively stated that the prosecution failed to convincingly establish the accused's culpability in the tragedy.

Notably, Naveed Khan, another acquitted individual, remains in custody tied to a different ongoing trial for an attempted murder charge. This marks a critical juncture in a case that has been watched closely by many for years.
