Calls for Relief: Himachal's Monsoon Misery

Himachal Pradesh faces severe devastation due to monsoon-induced disasters, causing 74 deaths and massive losses. The Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, has issued an urgent appeal to the state's BJP MPs to advocate for a special relief package from the central government following the severe destruction caused by monsoon-related disasters.

Since the monsoon began on June 20, the state has been battered by 36 flash floods, 23 cloudbursts, and 24 landslides, resulting in a tragic death toll of 74, with 34 people still missing. The financial impact of these calamities is estimated at Rs 1,246 crore.

In a recent social media post, Sukhu emphasized the humanitarian crisis, urging MPs to voice Himachal Pradesh's plight during the Monsoon Session of Parliament and demand effective disaster relief and preventive measures.
