A tragic incident occurred on Thursday morning in Navi Mumbai, claiming the life of an on-duty traffic police constable. Forty-one-year-old Bablu Patil was fatally struck by a hydra vehicle, commonly known as a crane truck, while he was overseeing traffic near Mahape bridge.
The accident happened at approximately 10.30 am, with eye-witnesses reporting a reckless driving incident. Patil tragically died at the scene. His body was subsequently taken to a government facility for post-mortem examination, according to police officials.
An FIR citing pertinent sections of the new legal code BNS and the Motor Vehicles Act has been lodged against the vehicle's driver. The driver was apprehended shortly after the accident and underwent medical examination as authorities suspect intoxication may have played a role.
