The confrontation unfolded near the Satwari police station while a police team was hot on the trail of suspected drug peddlers. Preliminary reports indicate that the police team drew fire during their pursuit, a police spokesperson explained.
As the crossfire ensued, an unidentified individual suffered injuries and was promptly taken to the Government Medical College Hospital in Jammu, officers reported. Senior police officials arrived at the scene, and a thorough investigation is currently in progress.
