Defence Minister Rajnath Singh declared in the Lok Sabha that the army's Operation Sindoor, aimed at achieving specific politico-military goals, has been paused. He affirmed that international or domestic pressures had no role in this strategic decision.
The Supreme Court refrained from halting the publication of draft electoral rolls in Bihar, indicating its intent to resolve disputes over the Election Commission's roll revisions definitively. Opposition figures, including Sonia Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav, protested against these revisions, highlighting the political discord.
Elsewhere, economic concerns escalated as the Congress criticized a significant decline in foreign direct investment and called for government intervention to protect domestic industries and amend current economic policies.
