The government of Himachal Pradesh has stepped up its disaster relief efforts by announcing a special package aimed at helping families affected by the recent deluge of natural calamities, including cloudbursts, flash floods, and landslides.
With a death toll of 90 and severe damages to properties, the cabinet led by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has significantly increased the compensations for damaged houses and livestock, with up to Rs 7 lakh for completely destroyed homes.
In addition, the state cabinet has taken steps to revise municipal election rules and approved expansions in medical education, reflecting a broad approach to governance amid the challenging circumstances.
