A 35-year-old woman teacher was taken into custody in Navi Mumbai for allegedly engaging in an obscene video call with a minor male student via a social media platform, police reported on Tuesday.
The Koparkhairne police acted swiftly after the student informed his parents, who then lodged a complaint with the police. Consequently, a case was filed against the teacher under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. An immediate arrest followed, and she was remanded in police custody for one day.
The authorities are now investigating whether the teacher had similar interactions with other students. This case highlights growing concerns about inappropriate online conduct and the protection of minors in digital spaces.
