Palestinian activist Owdeh Hathaleen, known for consulting on the Oscar-winning documentary 'No Other Land,' was tragically shot and killed in the occupied West Bank. The incident occurred when an Israeli settler reportedly opened fire during a confrontation near the village of Umm al-Khair, according to five eyewitness accounts reported by Reuters.

The Israeli military, in a statement, noted that the incident unfolded after 'terrorists hurled rocks toward Israeli civilians.' An armed civilian reportedly responded by firing towards the rock-throwers, leading to Hathaleen's death. The army also mentioned that the incident has been handed over to the police for investigation, amid unconfirmed reports of injuries.

The police have detained an Israeli individual and arrested four Palestinians along with two tourists who were at the scene. A video recorded by Alaa Hathaleen, a cousin of the deceased, depicted the tense confrontation and shooting, further inflaming the situation.
