The court's observations came as it upheld the conviction and five-year sentence of a man who sent obscene messages and manipulated photographs of a class 11 student to threaten her.
Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma stated the case underscored the dark side of technology. The court stressed that online threats should not be underestimated, and punishments must send a decisive message about the seriousness of cyberbullying against minors.
