Massive Pharma Drug Bust in UP and Uttarakhand Unveils Syndicate Operation

The Narcotics Control Bureau has seized over 5 lakh illegal pharma tablets worth Rs 20 crore and arrested five suspects in a multi-location operation across Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. The operation uncovered a syndicate illegally diverting prescription drugs, with ongoing investigations to identify the network mastermind.

In a significant crackdown, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has seized more than 5 lakh Tramadol and Alprazolam tablets, valued at Rs 20 crore, and arrested five individuals. The operation spanned across various locations in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, revealing a complex syndicate involved in the illicit diversion of pharmaceutical drugs.

The NCB's operations, launched in May, targeted areas including Dehradun and Jaspur in Uttarakhand, as well as Muzaffarnagar, Bareilly, and Saharanpur in western UP. A key discovery during the raids was the involvement of a milk vendor who had rented out his wholesale drug sale license for a nominal fee, facilitating the illegal distribution network.

Authorities are now focused on identifying the mastermind behind this illicit operation. The NCB's findings have prompted local law enforcement agencies to strengthen follow-up actions and clamp down on similar illegal activities in the region.
