The event unfolded on Tuesday in Loto village, within the Chatarpur police station's jurisdiction, and was reported by the deceased's family the following day. Authorities apprehended the woman based on the family's FIR.

During interrogation, she reportedly confessed to the murder, claiming that the victim had previously molested her when she went to the jungle to collect firewood. An axe, alleged to be the murder weapon, was seized as investigations continue.
