An unfortunate incident unfolded on Thursday as a cooking gas cylinder exploded at a welding shop near Vishakapatnam's fishing harbour, leading to the immediate demise of three individuals, according to police sources.

In addition to the fatalities, four more people suffered grave injuries and were promptly admitted to King George Hospital, where their conditions remain serious.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Mary Prasanthi confirmed the explosion and stated that a formal case registration process is underway. All injured individuals are residents of nearby areas, emphasizing the local impact of this tragedy.
