A new legal services clinic was inaugurated on Thursday at the District Sainik Welfare Office under the Veer Parivar Sahayata Yojana 2025. This initiative, launched by the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), aims to offer free legal aid to soldiers, retired servicemen, and their families.
The virtual inauguration was led by Himachal Pradesh High Court Chief Justice Gurmeet Singh Sandhawalia, who also serves as the Chief Patron of the Himachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority. The event took place in Shimla, attended by Justice Vivek Singh Thakur and other notable judges.
This significant initiative, coinciding with Kargil Vijay Diwas, forms part of a nationwide effort and was initially launched by Supreme Court Judge and NALSA Executive Chairman Justice Suryakant. Free legal assistance will be provided through panel lawyers and para-legal volunteers.
