In a gripping turn of events, 40-year-old Satheesh was detained at Thiruvananthapuram airport following suspicions of his involvement in the death of his wife, Athulya. Athulya, 29, was found hanging in their Sharjah apartment in July under questionable circumstances, igniting an investigation into potential foul play.
The Valiyathura police, acting on a look-out notice, handed Satheesh over to the authorities after his detention by immigration officials. The Crime Branch, currently probing the case, will soon take charge of the suspect to further unravel the truths behind the tragic incident.
Formal complaints from Athulya's family resulted in an FIR that accuses Satheesh of numerous offenses including abetment of suicide, cruelty, and breaches under the Dowry Prohibition Act. Allegations reveal a history of harassment stemming from dowry dissatisfaction and physical abuse mere days before Athulya's untimely demise.
