ED Officer's Transfer Plea Dismissed by Central Administrative Tribunal

The Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) has dismissed the plea of an Enforcement Directorate (ED) officer, who challenged his transfer from Kochi to Jammu and Kashmir. The tribunal upheld the employer's discretion in deciding the location of the employee's work.

The case involved P Radhakrishnan, a deputy director at the Kochi zonal office of the ED, who was transferred to Srinagar following a vigilance complaint against him. The officer argued that his transfer was arbitrary and destabilized his family, but the CAT found no merit in his claims.

The CAT highlighted that Radhakrishnan had served predominantly in the southern region for 30 out of his 32 years. The tribunal criticized the ED's response to the plea, noting issues with the agency's handling of orders and directives.
