Tragic Picnic Ambush in Pakistan: Gunmen Kill Seven in Kohat

In a tragic incident, at least seven members of a family were killed and one injured after unidentified gunmen ambushed their group in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, according to police on Sunday. The attack took place in Regi Shino Khel, a suburb of Kohat district, as the family returned from a picnic on Saturday night.
The victims were heading back to their native village, Khara Ghari Muhammad Zai, from Tanda Dam when the assailants opened fire on them. The attack occurred around 12:45 am, stated District Police Officer Kohat Zahidullah Khan. An investigation is underway, with initial findings suggesting the absence of a terrorism link, although some family disputes are under probe.
Following the attack, Rescue 1122 officials assisted by police contingents transported the bodies and the injured to District Headquarters Hospital Kohat. The injured individual was later moved to a Peshawar hospital for specialized treatment. Inspector General Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zulfiqar Hameed has ordered an immediate arrest of the perpetrators, as a manhunt continues for the gunmen who fled the scene.
