Major Drug Smuggling Ring Dismantled in Uttar Pradesh

Police in Uttar Pradesh's Budhana region have busted a drug smuggling gang, seizing over one kilogram of smack worth Rs 10 crore. Four suspects were arrested, and the vehicle used in the operation was confiscated. The gang was active from Bareilly to major cities like Mumbai and Delhi.

Authorities in Budhana, Uttar Pradesh, achieved a significant breakthrough on Monday, dismantling a drug smuggling gang. They seized over one kilogram of smack, valued at Rs 10 crore internationally, in a police operation.

Acting on specific intelligence, a police unit intercepted a vehicle and discovered the contraband, leading to the arrest of four suspects: Abdul Kadir, Abrar, Babar, and Rihan.

Senior Superintendent of Police Sanjay Kumar reported that the gang supplied drugs from Bareilly across western Uttar Pradesh to major cities like Mumbai, Delhi, and Chandigarh. A case has been filed under the NDPS Act, and investigations continue to identify additional network members.
