Cough Syrup Smuggling Ring Busted in Jharkhand

In a significant crackdown, Jharkhand police apprehended three individuals with a substantial consignment of cough syrup in West Singhbhum's Toranghatu area, a police official disclosed on Tuesday.

The arrests followed a swift operation led by SP Rakesh Ranjan, who acted on intelligence regarding illegal syrup transport from Ranchi to Jaitgarh. A targeted vehicle-checking initiative resulted in the interception of a pick-up van carrying 30 cartons of the syrup.

The arrested individuals failed to produce the necessary documentation for the shipment, raising suspicions of illicit trade. Authorities have launched a thorough investigation to probe the matter further.
