An incident of mob violence erupted in Faridabad when two college students were mistakenly accused of spying with a drone. The youths, Ayush and Avi, were atop a building aiming to complete a photography project when villagers suspected them of espionage.
The suspicion escalated, resulting in the students being physically assaulted and their scooter set ablaze by an angry crowd. Police officers present were also attacked during attempts to calm the villagers. An expanded force was summoned, but the assailants fled the scene.
Subsequent investigations led to the arrest of Bittu Khatana, who allegedly incited the mob. Authorities are actively searching for additional suspects connected to the incident.
