GST Overhaul Sparks Demand for State Compensation

The Centre's approval for a complete overhaul of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) regime has prompted Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to demand compensation for all states for an additional five years. He argues the reduced tax rates could significantly harm state revenues.

Reddy also urged the government to engage in dialogue with Maoists willing to join the mainstream, suggesting the government should extend its policy of dialogue, similar to its approach with terrorists and Pakistani agencies, to Maoists who are citizens of the country.

Further, Reddy commented on K Kavitha's resignation from BRS, referring to it as a 'family matter' amid claims of social boycott by Telangana of KCR's family. He also awaits the Supreme Court's decision on Telangana's reservation bills pending presidential approval.
