The Delhi Police have successfully uncovered the truth behind a fabricated robbery incident near the Old Delhi Railway Station, orchestrated by a watch shop employee, Akash, an official revealed on Monday.
Investigators meticulously reviewed footage from more than 500 security cameras to track Akash's movements and eventually recovered the stolen sum of Rs 23.37 lakh, which Akash had hidden away after concocting an elaborate story to deceive both his employer and law enforcement.
Initially, Akash had claimed he was overpowered by chemical smoke and robbed, which was eventually debunked by police efforts. His confession came after a thorough probe, leading to the recovery of the cash and other items he had stashed in a room in Ghaziabad.
