The Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating the death of digital journalist Rajiv Pratap has determined that it was likely a road accident caused by intoxication, police confirmed on Thursday.
Pratap, 36, from Dehradun, went missing on the night of September 18 in Uttarkashi. His body was discovered at the Joshiada Barrage on September 28, nearly 10 days later.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Janak Panwar, leading the SIT, revealed that post-mortem results, CCTV footage, and statements from acquaintances support the road accident theory. However, all aspects of the case remain under scrutiny.
