The tragic event, which occurred on September 27, resulted in the deaths of 41 people and left more than 60 injured, prompting urgent judicial intervention.

Spearheaded by senior IPS officer Asra Garg, the SIT's duties include unearthing the causes behind the incident. A single judge bench has also expressed critical views against Vijay's political outfit, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK).
