Three Special Task Force personnel suffered injuries following a blast from a pressure Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted by Naxalites in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district, according to police reports.

The explosion transpired in a forested area of Kandlaparti village, close to Bhopalpatnam police station, during a routine operation by the STF to assert area dominance. The pressure IED was accidentally triggered, resulting in the injuries, said a police official.

Initial medical aid was administered to the injured personnel, who were subsequently transported to Bijapur district hospital. Authorities have launched a search operation in the vicinity. Naxalites frequently lay such devices along roads and trails in the Bastar region to ambush security forces and civilians alike.
