Controversy Erupts Over Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Election
The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) has filed a petition in the Pakistani high court contesting the recent election of Sohail Afridi as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Chief Minister. The election is deemed invalid due to alleged procedural violations, including unaccepted resignation of the outgoing Chief Minister Gandapur.

The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) has lodged a petition in a Pakistani high court seeking to nullify the election of Sohail Afridi as the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The election has been challenged as unlawful and lacking legitimacy.
The petition alleges that the resignation of outgoing Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur was not officially accepted, rendering the election process of Afridi unlawful. Maulana Lutfur Rehman of the JUI-F argues that without Gandapur's formal exit, a new election should not have proceeded.
With the Peshawar High Court now involved, questions arise about election legality and adherence to constitutional rules. The court is set to address these issues, including Afridi's scheduled oath-taking. Both the outgoing and elected individuals, alongside the provincial government, are respondents in the ongoing legal debate.
