Priyank Kharge Stands Against Intimidation Over RSS Controversy

Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge faces threatening calls after challenging RSS activities in public institutions. Despite the intimidation, Kharge, son of Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, remains resolute in his mission to foster a society based on equality. He urged for a ban on RSS activities in government schools and colleges.

Karnataka's Information Technology and Biotechnology Minister, Priyank Kharge, has been receiving threatening and abusive phone calls following his outspoken criticism of RSS activities in public institutions. Kharge, the son of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, stated that the harassment began when he challenged the presence of RSS practices in government and government-aided schools, as well as public spaces.

Despite the onslaught of calls filled with threats and intimidation, Kharge affirmed his stance, indicating that he remains unshaken. Comparing his situation to historical figures like Gandhi and Ambedkar, he proclaimed his commitment to create a society founded on equality and reason, referencing teachings of Buddha, Basavanna, and Babasaheb.

Kharge also addressed Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, requesting a ban on RSS activities in educational and public venues. He argued these activities compromise India's unity and constitutional spirit. The Minister recalled a similar experience during Basavaraj Bommai's tenure, noting past challenges in tracking the source of anonymous threats. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has acknowledged the situation and is looking into measures to address the issue.
