Union Home Minister Amit Shah, on Tuesday, extended his heartfelt greetings to police personnel across the country in celebration of Police Commemoration Day. This day honors the vital role that the police play as first responders in maintaining internal security and protecting citizens' rights.
Police Commemoration Day is marked annually in memory of the 10 CRPF personnel killed by Chinese troops during an ambush in 1959 at Ladakh's Hot Spring area. Shah lauded the law enforcement's exemplary courage and commitment in thwarting crimes and securing the nation.
In addition, the Home Minister paid homage to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and the Indian National Army on their foundation day, recognizing their pivotal role in instilling the belief that freedom could be achieved through military campaigns led by native forces.
