Nagaland's Director General of Police, Rupin Sharma, delivered a heartfelt tribute to 186 police personnel who sacrificed their lives while performing their duties across India over the past year. The tribute took place during the Police Commemoration Day program held at Nagaland Police headquarters.
Addressing law enforcers, Sharma emphasized the importance of renewing their dedication to serving the nation and maintaining its integrity. He urged them to be prepared to make the ultimate sacrifice if necessary. Sharma paid special homage to Constable Chandan Das from Nagaland, among the brave souls remembered.
In his remarks, Sharma recalled the historical significance of Police Commemoration Day, which dates back to the 1959 Aksai Chin ambush when 10 CRPF personnel were killed by Chinese troops. The DGP praised the unwavering commitment of Nagaland Police in maintaining law and order, emphasizing their role in strengthening public trust.
