Following a violent clash during Diwali celebrations, eight individuals have been apprehended in Abdulla Khan village within Shamli district. The altercation stemmed from disagreements over the bursting of crackers, according to police officials on Wednesday.
Additional Superintendent of Police Santosh Kumar Singh announced that those arrested include Sabir, Husain, Kadir, Suhail, Muqadas, Bhura, another Kadir, and Azam, following the lodging of a complaint by local resident Vinod Kumar. The arrests occurred Tuesday night after the disagreement escalated into violence, leaving two men injured.
In response to the incident, law enforcement agencies have tightened security measures in the village, deploying additional forces to prevent any further disruption, authorities reported.
