The Arunachal Pradesh State Election Commission has officially announced the scheduling of the panchayat and municipal elections for December in key regions like Itanagar and Pasighat. This move aims to strengthen the democratic framework at the grassroots level.
With a focus on gender representation, the commission is ensuring that one-third of the seats are reserved for women. Open draws to determine these reservations will be conducted on October 28 and 29 in districts such as Changlang, Itanagar, and Kurung Kumey.
Officials, political party members, and community representatives are actively involved in the transparent process, with draws taking place in specified conference halls. The Commission mandates the issuance of official notifications by October 30, reinforcing adherence to legislative requirements.
