20-Year Sentence Delivered in Udhampur POCSO Case
A court in Jammu and Kashmir has sentenced Mohammad Arshad alias Nikka to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment for raping a minor girl in Udhampur. The incident, involving sexual assault, was charged under the POCSO Act. A fine of Rs 50,000 was also imposed on the convict.

A court in Jammu and Kashmir has handed down a 20-year rigorous imprisonment sentence to Mohammad Arshad alias Nikka for the sexual assault of a minor in Udhampur district.
According to a police spokesperson, the conviction was secured in a sensitive POCSO case registered at Police Station Ramnagar in 2020. Arshad was charged under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
Following an extensive investigation, the charge-sheet was submitted and, after the trial, the Principal Sessions Judge, Udhampur, delivered the sentence and imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on the convicted individual.
