The Kolkata Police launched a significant crackdown following this year's Diwali celebrations, resulting in over 390 arrests for various legal infringements, including unruly behavior and the use of banned fireworks, an officer reported on Wednesday.
During tactical raids conducted on Tuesday, authorities confiscated over 180 kilograms of illicit fireworks and more than 30 liters of illegal liquor, the officer revealed.
Among those apprehended, 273 individuals were charged with disorderly conduct, while 43 were detained for igniting forbidden fireworks. Moreover, the Kolkata Traffic Police reported the prosecution of 366 individuals for traffic-related offences on Tuesday.
