Tragic Accident: Father's Attempt to Scare Daughter Turns Fatal in Sitapur

A tragic incident unfolded in Sitapur district as an 11-year-old girl fell into a well and died due to a misguided attempt by her father to scare her, officials reported on Thursday.
The incident took place on October 21 in Jagannathpur village, under Misrikh police station. SHO Arvind Singh stated that Shravan Kumar, an alcohol-addicted father, returned home drunk and demanded food from his daughter, Lakshmi. When informed that it wasn't ready, he attempted to intimidate her by hanging her over a well.
Unfortunately, Lakshmi slipped and fell into the well, prompting her father to leap in after her, but his rescue attempt was unsuccessful. Despite being pulled out by neighbors, the girl had already lost her life. Kumar has since been arrested and charged with culpable homicide.
