A violent confrontation broke out between members of the Yadav and Bind communities in a village near Reoti, resulting in seven injured individuals, police confirmed.
The clash, occurring on Wednesday night, was reportedly fueled by a dominance-related dispute, with both groups resorting to sticks and iron rods during the altercation. Those injured included Sunil Yadav, Kamlesh Yadav, Dhananjay, Lal Babu Prasad, Kapil Dev, Ravindra, and Mantu Bind, who were promptly taken to a government hospital. Four of the victims required further treatment and were transferred to a district hospital, according to officials.
In the aftermath, police filed two separate First Information Reports (FIRs) based on complaints from each side. Deputy Superintendent of Police Mohammad Faheem Qureshi noted that eight individuals were named in the first FIR, registered by Sunil Yadav, while a second FIR listed 14 accused following a complaint by Manoj Kumar Prasad. As part of their investigation, police have arrested five individuals and detained five more for questioning, declaring the situation in the village stable but tense due to ongoing rivalries and local power struggles.
