A violent incident unfolded in Ghatkesar on Wednesday evening when a cattle transporter allegedly shot a 28-year-old gau rakshak activist. The altercation was reportedly linked to disputes over illegal cattle transportation.
According to the police, the shooting occurred after the transporter, identified as a 24-year-old individual in the cattle business, confronted the activist, B Prashanth Kumar, alias Sonu Singh. Kumar was called to the scene under the pretense of a discussion, which escalated into violence.
Following the incident, police apprehended three individuals connected to the case. The arrest occurred in Shamshabad, while one suspect remains at large. Further political and social ramifications are expected as BJP leaders neared confrontation with the police over the incident.
