Father-Son Duo Arrested After Dramatic Police Encounter in Punjab

A father and son were apprehended following a dramatic police encounter in Punjab, officials reported on Thursday. The suspects, linked to a high-profile jewelry shop attack, were captured by the Anti-Gangster Task Force and the Hoshiarpur police.

Duo members, Krishan Gopal and his son Keshav Bawa, were involved in an exchange of gunfire with the police, leading to Bawa being injured. Authorities recovered a .32-caliber pistol and live cartridges from the suspects, as well as a motorcycle with a fake number plate.

The suspects were involved in a recent attack on a jewelry shop and subsequent extortion attempt. Investigations are ongoing to determine their connections, with fresh charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Arms Act being filed.
