Judicial Inquiry into Leh Clashes Set to Begin

A judicial inquiry into the violent clashes on September 24 in Leh begins, led by a retired Supreme Court judge. The clashes resulted in four deaths and 90 injuries.

The judicial inquiry into the violent clashes of September 24 in Leh is set to commence this Saturday. Aggrieved individuals are invited to present their testimonies to the probe panel.

On October 17, the Centre responded to demands from protesting Ladakh groups by announcing a judicial inquiry headed by a retired Supreme Court judge into the Leh clashes. The incident resulted in the deaths of four individuals, including a veteran of the 1999 Kargil war.

The judicial inquiry is scheduled to take place at the Alternative Dispute Redressal Centre in Melongthang, Leh, from October 25 to 28, as stated in an order issued by Qureshi Tariq Mehmood from the Law and Justice Department. Adequate arrangements for the inquiry will be prioritized, and testimonies from concerned individuals are requested.
