Judicial Inquiry into Leh Clashes Begins Amidst Ladakh's Demands

A judicial inquiry into the September 24 clashes in Leh, which resulted in four deaths, will start on October 25. The inquiry into the violent September 24 clashes in Leh will commence on Saturday as aggrieved parties have been invited to testify before the judicial panel.

Prompted by Ladakh's demands, the Centre announced on October 17 a judicial investigation led by retired Supreme Court justice into the clashes that saw four fatalities.

The inquiry, led by Justice B S Chauhan, will examine the events leading to the unrest. Meanwhile, Ladakh leaders engage with the government, calling for the release of arrested activists and compensation for victims' families.
