Police Apprehend Abductor in Dramatic Encounter

An 18-year-old man named Imran was arrested following an attempted abduction and forced religious conversion of a minor girl. He was apprehended during a police encounter in Taalgram after allegedly firing on officers. The police recovered a weapon and charged him under multiple legal statutes.

An 18-year-old man, Imran, accused of abducting and coercing a minor girl for religious conversion, was apprehended in Taalgram following a police encounter, officials confirmed.

The accused, from Tahpur village, allegedly manipulated a Class 12 student on October 26 and posted her photo in a burqa on social media, captioning it as a 'Happy Wedding Anniversary', according to authorities.

The girl escaped and claimed Imran pressured her for conversion and threatened to leak her photos online, SP Vinod Kumar stated. Acting on a tip, police surrounded Imran, who opened fire before being injured in the ensuing exchange. He was hospitalized, found with a pistol and cartridges, and charged under BNS and POCSO Act.
