WaveX, T-Hub Partner to Boost India’s AVGC-XR Startup Ecosystem

In a significant move to foster innovation and entrepreneurship in India’s creative and media-tech landscape, WaveX, the startup accelerator platform under the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (I&B), Government of India, has signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with T-Hub, the world’s largest startup incubator based in Hyderabad. The MoU aims to accelerate the growth of startups in media, content creation, entertainment, and immersive technologies like Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics, and Extended Reality (AVGC-XR).
The agreement was formally signed by the CEOs of WaveX and T-Hub in the presence of Shri Sanjay Jaju, Secretary, Ministry of I&B; Shri Sanjay Kumar, Special Chief Secretary of the Information Technology, Electronics and Communications Department, Government of Telangana; and other senior ministry officials.
WaveX: A National Accelerator for the Creative Economy
Launched as a flagship initiative under the Ministry of I&B, WaveX is designed to serve as a national accelerator for startups and creators working in the domains of media, entertainment, and immersive technologies. Its objective is to enable India's creative minds—particularly youth, content creators, and media entrepreneurs—to scale up their innovations through structured incubation, mentorship, and business development support.

T-Hub: Enabling Scale and Global Access for Startups
T-Hub, already recognized for hosting India’s most promising startups and being a global innovation catalyst, will act as the Anchor Institution for the WaveX program. The collaboration aims to combine T-Hub’s expertise in incubation, mentorship, global networks, and infrastructure with WaveX’s vision of building a robust, nationwide startup ecosystem for the media-tech sector.
Shri Sanjay Kumar, Special Chief Secretary, Government of Telangana, emphasized the importance of this alliance in shaping India’s digital-first entrepreneurial future:
