In a harrowing development in Jharkhand's Palamu district, police found the severed head of a newborn near a cremation ground, sparking a detailed investigation.
The head, believed to be of a three to four-day-old infant, surfaced Thursday evening near Tedhwa Bridge within Medininagar Town police jurisdiction. However, the baby's torso remains missing.
Police are meticulously scanning hospital records to identify births that occurred in recent days as part of their investigation. Despite inquiries on potential sacrificial motives, no supporting evidence has been found. Authorities have detained the head, planning further forensic examination upon recovery of additional remains.
