The Delhi High Court on Tuesday sought responses from the central government and police following a plea by city minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa, who has called for the production of a police report allegedly documenting Congress leader Kamal Nath's presence during the riots at Gurudwara Rakab Ganj Sahib in 1984.
Justice Ravinder Dudeja has issued notices to the authorities, instructing them to submit their replies by January 15, 2026. The plea pushes for the report, prepared by Gautam Kaul, the then Additional Commissioner of Police, to be placed on record, alleging it categorically confirms Nath's presence at the scene of the crime.
The application is part of a broader petition seeking action against Nath for his alleged role in the tragic events. Advocate H S Phoolka, representing the petitioner, emphasized that Nath's presence is well-documented in police records and news publications, challenging the government's dismissive stance in its status report.
