A Fast Track Court in Bengaluru has summoned former Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa and three others to appear in a POCSO case involving allegations of sexual assault on a minor. The summons follow the Karnataka High Court's recent refusal to quash the charges.
The POCSO case was registered after a complaint was filed by the mother of a 17-year-old girl, alleging Yediyurappa assaulted her at his residence. The court has ordered the accused's appearance on December 2, with allowances for Yediyurappa's personal absence unless deemed necessary.
The investigation was transferred to the CID, resulting in a comprehensive chargesheet. Key testimonies were recorded, but the complainant's mother passed away in May 2024. This case has generated significant attention given its high-profile nature.
